Planting during the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Gardening, one of America’s favorite activities, can be done safely during the Coronavirus “shelter in place” order. Here along the Central Coast of California, as elsewhere in the nation, many activities have been denied to us. Fortunately, we have gardening as a source of entertainment and outdoor exercise and can garden to our heart’s content. Most Americans, have a garden of some sort (from a pot on the porch to acreage) where they can dig, pull weeds, compost kitchen scraps, fertilize and breathe in healthy air. We can also EAT the results of our garden at the time of harvest.

Nature goes on, even as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) ravages our country. Early spring is here and it’s time to plant. The need for fresh vegetables and herbs will be in demand too, I’m afraid. I’m readying here at home in our temperate climate, to plant a few vegetables and herbs. Here are some suggestions for what seeds can be planted this time of year.
